Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending the inaugural white coat ceremony of the Rochester Biomedical Experience, a unique partnership between RIT and MCC to increase minority participation in biomedicine. The students received white lab coats enblazoned with their names in front of joyful family members, friends and mentors.
It was so nice to see the look of pride on these kids faces as they officially entered the scientific community. These students have the skills and desire to become the next generation of doctors and scientists and now, thanks to RIT and MCC, they will have the financial and academic support necessary to make their dreams come true.
