The commencement issue: Chock full o’ news Inside N&E

Another academic year has passed and our big, 12-page News & Events commencement issue hits the stands Friday, May 18. I really feel good about this one—there’s a ton of fascinating news, cool feature stories and some fun stuff, too. It’s really a terrific mix of all things RIT.

For me, the production of this issue each year brings high anxiety with it. In fact, I would bet money that six years ago its production actually induced labor. I breathe a sigh of relief when it’s shipped off to the printer and cross my fingers that it all makes sense in the end. After all, we produce 15,000 copies of this issue—and thousands of RIT parents and friends will be scanning the pages as they sit in the bleachers next weekend and listen for their grad’s name to be called.

One change is apparent in this issue—we have traditionally showcased our student scholarships and awards with a two-page spread, but this year, due to an overwhelming amount of news, we were forced to limit the section to one page. However, you can look for our expanded scholarship/awards coverage on the Web: www.rit.edu/newsevents.

Sit back and enjoy this issue—it’s a keeper.
