I’m happy to introduce a new, weekly podcast—and the second regular University News-produced podcast: RIT NEWSMINUTE is a calendar-type show highlighting events during the week ahead. As its name implies, RIT NEWSMINUTE runs 60 seconds. The new podcast made its debut with the beginning of fall quarter on Sept. 3.
Although dated Monday, RIT NEWSMINUTE usually will be available by late Friday each week to allow you to plan ahead for the coming week by making listening to the podcast part of your Friday afternoon or Monday morning routine.
RIT NEWSMINUTE joins our flagship podcast, the twice monthly Dateline: RIT – The Podcast, which features the remarks of RIT newsmakers in their own voices, campus news and News & Events highlights. Dateline: RIT returns for a second season beginning Sept. 13.
On the topic of podcasting . . . I’m reminded that podcasting remains mysterious to many people. For example, some believe they need to have an iPod in order to listen to podcasts. As I wrote in my most recent On the Pod column in News & Events, it’s easy for people like me to forget that not everyone is familiar with podcasting—and it’s good to be reminded of some people’s misperceptions.
Have a great weekend! (Go Bills! :-)
