‘The answer is…’ Podcasts

On this week’s Studio 86 podcast, Will Dube and I interview Rob Stevens, a professor in the Kate Gleason College of Engineering, about the multidisciplinary engineering senior design program. In particular, we discussed student projects in the sustainable design and product development/energy technologies track that Dr. Stevens has advised.

In addition, Dr. Stevens shares the experience of a team of RIT students at last year’s National Sustainable Design Expo, in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with the P3: People, Prosperity and Planet Student Design Competition for Sustainability. He recounts how the students ended up on a “video clue” on the TV game show “Jeopardy!” after being filmed by the show’s “Clues Crew” on the National Mall (read more here). Plus, hear the “Jeopardy!” clip featuring RIT—all on this week’s Studio 86.

Have a great weekend and Happy Easter!

The project featured in the Jeopardy clue was a solar pasteurizer which Stevens' team hopes to ultimately implement in third world countries where electricity is scarce. Other work conducted by the team includes a wind powered walk way light now in use on the RIT campus.
