The second issue of News & Events for the 2008-2009 academic year is on campus, and with that, I hope to bring you many future issues of fresh (as opposed to re-occurring) news. For example, in the Sept. 18 issue, we highlight cutting-edge robotics research, name our new chief information officer, feature an administrator’s once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Galapagos Islands, and delve into the life of one of our own female scientists.
This year, it’s my personal goal to bring you what’s really new on campus, and limit our “repeat” stories and photographs. Now, that isn’t to say that every story and photograph will be new to you—there are some “oldies but goodies” that make for great news every year. But, our writers and editors will be on the lookout for extraordinary research, interesting faculty and staff profiles, cool photo opportunities and new events.
Now, doesn’t that sound like great reading?
