The News & Events: Imagine RIT edition has hit the stands and we are hoping that this special issue gives our readers a glimpse into what they can expect from this years’ festival.
The issue looks great, especially the nice front-page design loosely based on the Imagine RIT ‘bubbles’ logo. Kudos to Pete Bella, our graphic designer from University Publications, who always does a great job when I say, “I need some kind of graphic element that will pull this whole thing together. I don’t really know what I want—kind of something like…Well, I trust you…go ahead and just come up with something.”
In addition to Imagine RIT news in this issue, we are also featuring stories about our award-winning students who have taken the top prize in an international publication contest; talented student filmmakers who will display their creativity at this year’s High Falls International Film Festival; faculty research projects about increasing the number of Native-American students on campus; and the impact of media campaigns on the controversial subject of gas drilling in the Catskills. We are also running a timely Student Spotlight featuring Rachelle Danno, who was able to change gears—and careers—by taking advantage of RIT’s PREP program.
Enjoy this issue filled with great stories and great photos, and be sure to visit us at the University News booth this Saturday at the Imagine RIT festival.
By the way, our next issue—our annual Commencement special edition—delivers May 21.
