Vote 2010: Imagine RIT style Campus life, Events

Blue skies above the Eastman Building scream “dream bigger!” Meanwhile, a pig with wings implores us to “imagine anything,” and hobbit-like monsters insist that “creativity runs wild.”

Don’t worry, I’m not hallucinating. Instead, I’ve been scanning the entries for this year’s Imagine RIT: Innovation and Creativity Festival poster contest. Today is the deadline for entries, and I’m happy to report that there are a whopping 61 submissions. And, who knows, that number may grow before the day is done.

I’m so impressed with the quality of the entries. Design concepts vary as greatly as the range of exhibits making up our annual campus festival. I’m glad I’m not the one who has to pick this year’s poster finalists. You see—that’s your job!

After the upcoming break, be on the lookout for information directing you to an online gallery showcasing each one of this year’s poster submissions. You—members of the RIT community—will be invited to vote for your favorite entries. Up to five finalists will be selected based on the total number of votes received. These top entries will then be put in front of President Bill Destler who will ultimately choose our winner.

Please take the opportunity to appreciate the remarkable work of RIT’s student artists while helping to select the poster design that will represent Imagine RIT in 2010. I can’t wait to see which one comes out on top.
