Carla Bonaldi

Carla Bonaldi was born and raised in Rochester, New York and is presently a Middle School science teacher and helps coordinate the K-8 science program at the Rochester School for the Deaf. As a veteran teacher of deaf children, Carla has worked in different capacities and with children of various ages, both at RSD and previously at The Learning Center for Deaf Children in Framingham, Massachusetts. During the course of her career, she has presented to teachers at various conferences, locally and nationally. She was also involved with Project ACCESS, a partnership between NTID and Hungarian schools serving deaf children. Carla’s professional interests include hands-on, minds-on science that encourages students to take an active role in learning.

Carla gets pleasure from spending time with family, especially her 18 month-old granddaughter, and friends. She enjoys reading, relaxing at her home on Lake Ontario, and staying busy with projects of any kind. Carla welcomes the opportunity to serve as one of the SEEDS Project ASL interpreters since it will provide her firsthand experiences with Japanese culture, both hearing and Deaf, therefore enabling her to broaden the global awareness of her students.
