From Research to Practice

Moray HouseMoray HouseThis project seeks predictors of achievement among deaf pupils. Making use of the Achievement of Deaf Pupils database (2000-2005) established by Dr. Mary Brennan, the project examines characteristics of children, families, activities, and early interventions. Working with parents, teachers, and the community, the follow-up study will involve questionnaires and interviews with deaf young people who have now left school in order to determine their current status and progress since the original survey. The ultimate goal is to establish an evidence-based approach to the achievement gap of deaf pupils in the UK and elsewhere. Primary questions include:
