Carol has worked at RIT for over 30 years and has been in the Center
since it was launched as the National Sign Language Interpreting Project
in 2002. She has an M.S. degree in Secondary Education of Students who
are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and is a certified sign language and oral
interpreter. Following an NSF-sponsored research program that focused on
deaf and hearing students' allocation of visual attention in the
classroom, her current research investigates deaf students' academic
achievement in college classrooms through studies exploring cognitive
and metacognitive foundations of learning.
