An RIT/NTID Center of Excellence for Students Who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Thomastine A. Sarchet

Thomastine A. Sarchet is professional staff and adjunct faculty at National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology where she has been on staff since 2003. She is the associate director of NTID’s Pre-College Education Network (P-CEN), a multinational collaborative network of colleges and universities serving deaf students that is funded by more than $11.5 million in grants from The Nippon Foundation of Japan.  She is also adjunct faculty in NTID’s Master of Science in Secondary Education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students. Ms. Sarchet is a member of CERP’s NIDCD Advisory Board; NTID’s Advisory Board for Principal Investigator Professional Development; and Research Liaison for the NTID Diversity Group. Prior to these roles, she served as senior research personnel on federally funded grants in the Center for Educational Research Partnerships (CERP). Sarchet holds a B.S. degree in biology and M.S. degree in secondary deaf education.  She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Teaching and Curriculum at the University of Rochester.
