Workshop Description and Goals
Attend the five-day Introduction to Network+ Certification workshop July 26-30, 2010 at a cost of $500, at NTID/RIT in Rochester NY. The workshop will be held daily from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
This workshop will help you prepare for the "Network+™ Certification" test that is offered by CompTIA. This is a test that you can study for and take on your own after this workshop. You will be given a supplemental book and a testing engine that you can use after the workshop to prepare to obtain this vendor-independent networking certificate.
Attendance at the workshop does not guarantee that you will pass this, or any, certification.

Prerequisites
Workshop participants should have knowledge and be familiar with PCs, operating systems, and general networking concepts.
NOTE: If you already have any networking certification (such as the Cisco CCNA/CCDA, or the Microsoft MCP), this is not an appropriate workshop for you.

Instructor: Deborah Poe
Deborah Poe is a Visiting Instructor and a deaf faculty member in the Information and Computing Studies department and has been teaching at NTID for over 12 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems from the Rochester Institute of Technology and is currently working on a Master of Science degree in Networking, Security, and System Administration. Before joining the NTID faculty she worked for Eastman Kodak Company as an EDP Systems Analyst for 3 years and homeschooled her children for 14 years.
Debbie is a CompTIA™ Network+ Certified Professional.
