Workshop Description and Goals

 

Attend the five-day Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt workshop on June 14-18, 2010 at a cost of $500, at RIT/NTID in Rochester, NY. The workshop will be held daily from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

 

The Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt workshop is designed to provide a broad understanding of the Lean Six Sigma improvement processes for identifying and removing the cause of defects and errors in manufacturing and business processes.  Participants will gain a strong understanding of the Lean Six Sigma philosophy and the road maps/processes that will allow them to provide valuable support in accomplishing their company’s/organization’s goals on a daily basis.

  • Meaning and history of Lean & Six Sigma

  • Understanding DMAIC methodology

  • Understanding the 15+ basic process improvement tools used in Lean & Six Sigma

  • Controlling variation

  • Developing measurement plans

     

Prerequisites

 

There are no prerequisite for this workshop. This workshop is ideal for any employee of an organization who desires to or is required to know about Lean Six Sigma and its DMAIC methodology.

Instructor: Wendy Dannels

 

Wendy Dannels


Wendy Dannels is a deaf faculty member in NTID’s Engineering Studies department. Wendy has a MS degree in Design of Product & Production Systems and Computer Integrated Manufacturing and a BS degree in Quality Management. Her masters degree capstone project involved implementing Kaizen Event: Designing for Six Sigma in training materials.  Prior to joining NTID, Wendy had over seventeen years of engineering-related work experience. She has experience working with a variety of Six Sigma tools including: Variation Reduction Kaizen, Standard Work, Voice of the Customer, Production Preparation Process, and Training and Facilitation Techniques for Instructors.
