Workshop Description and Goals

 

Attend the five-day Digital Photography 101 workshop June 14-18, 2010 at a cost of $500, at NTID/RIT in Rochester NY. The workshop will be held daily from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

 

If you want to become a photographer, do family portraits, travel photos, or just have fun, in this workshop you’ll experience basic understanding of the art of digital photography and the techniques necessary to create real products with your digital images. We’ll explore the creative ways in which light is manipulated to make great photographs; the elements of composition; technical understanding of the camera and its operation; the art of image enhancement and image preparation; a variety of end products (Prints, books, WWW, slide shows, DVD, etc.) that can make your images available for view by others.

 

 

Prerequisites

 

The DigPhoto workshop is designed for individuals who have little or no experience using digital cameras. This workshop will be taught in an Apple Macintosh environment and participants should have basic computer skills.

 

Participants are encouraged to bring their own digital cameras and laptops.

Tony Toscano

 

Tony Toscano is a Associate Professor in the Arts & Imaging Studies department. He is CEO of a display company, a working artist and a committed teacher of people who are deaf and have multiple disabilities. His art-work has been exhibited in numerous galleries nationally and abroad and published in books and
magazines. He is a recognized expert in the area of imaging and consults locally and regionally. Tony received a certificate in painting from the Atelier Frochot in Paris, France, a BFA in Print-Making and Photography from the Museum Art School in Portland, and a MFA in Fine Art Photography from the
Rochester Institute of Technology.
