Workshops > Wide Format Printing
Description and Goals
Attend the five-day Wide Format Printing workshop on June 22-26, 2009 at a cost of $500, at RIT/NTID in Rochester, NY. The workshop will be held daily from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Large graphics such as point-of-purchase displays, signs, banners, vehicle wraps, and advertisements are part of everyday life. Producing very large (wide format) and display prints is a complex task requiring many technical skills and knowledge. In this workshop, you will learn about the different wide format technologies in use, how to select the appropriate material, prepare images for wide format output, set up and operate wide format printers, and laminate and finish wide format prints. Participants are encouraged to bring their own digital images to the workshop.
The workshop structure includes lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities that enable workshop attendees to get experience and expert guidance in the topics listed.
Workshop attendees should be familiar with personal computers and working with either the Mac OS X or Windows operating systems. Fundamental experience and understanding of Adobe Photoshop software is helpful. The workshop will also address issues of migrating to the newest version of Photoshop CS4.
