The Next Big Idea is an annual competition, sponsored by ZVRS, in which cross-disciplinary teams of deaf and hard-of-hearing students work together to create a product, a type of technology or a business that will be useful to the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Teams have been working since last fall to develop ideas and create their project.
The annual Imagine RIT: Innovation and Creativity Festival will take place from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 3. Students, faculty and staff are exhibiting and volunteering as the Rochester community arrives on campus to imagine RIT! The event is free and the public is invited. Graduates of RIT’s nine colleges, the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies, the Golisano Institute for Sustainability, and their guests are invited to the Academic Convocation, the university’s community Commencement celebration on Friday, May 23, 2014, in the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. The Academic Convocation will feature the official conferral of degrees by President Destler and the 2014 Commencement Address. The Academic Convocation is open to all graduates and their guests. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. Tickets are not required; seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Overflow seating will be available in the Ritter Ice Arena. More
