There are a few grass-roots 12-step Alcoholics Anonymous programs of deaf people in the Portland and Salem areas, in which American Sign Language is the participants' language of choice.
This program has been developed in the course of an agreement among the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), Rochester Institute of Technology, and the Monroe County Department of Mental Health. Copying is freely allowed so long as credit is given and the copies are not sold.
