RIT TechGirlz Camp

A week-long summer camp for deaf or hard-of-hearing girls entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade in Fall 2012 who are interested in science, technology, engineering and math.

What to Bring

All items are a must for your comfort and well-being!

  • Photocopy of your medical insurance card
  • Bath towel, face towel, and wash cloth
  • Your own toiletries: soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, band-aids, sun screen/lotion, shampoo, comb, blow dryer, etc.
  • Bathing suit, sneakers, jeans, sweatshirts, shorts, t-shirts, underwear, socks, a rain-resistant jacket, walking shoes
  • Extra towels for swimming
  • Your cell phone or a long distance telephone calling card
  • Pillow
  • Sleeping bag or extra-long single sheets and blankets
  • Spending money for campus bookstore, snacks, or laundry
  • If you bring prescription drugs (Rx), please place them in a quart-sized labeled zipper plastic bag and give them to us when you arrive.  The medication is not to be kept with you.

Students, if you use a hearing aid or have a cochlear implant, we suggest you bring the following items:

  • Dri-aid kit
  • Batteries

For those who have cochlear implants:

  • Extra cords
  • Batteries
  • Dri-aid kit
  • Magnets
  • Back-up headset/speech processor

These dri-aid kits and backup equipment will ensure that you’ll be able to get the most out of your listening equipment while you are here.
