Computing Exploration: If you’re interested in a bachelor’s degree in computing, but are unsure whether computer science or software engineering is the right major for you, then consider the new Computing Exploration option. In this program you’ll spend your first year and part of your second year completing required coursework that will provide an understanding of both computer science and software engineering before you are required to select one of these programs as a major. The Computing Exploration option has been carefully designed so that you will stay on track to graduation regardless of whether you select the computer science or software engineering major.
Informatics Exploration: If you’re interested in the application of computing to the needs of today’s society, then check out the new Informatics Exploration option. In this bachelor’s degree program you’ll spend your first year exploring four areas of study—Applied Networking and System Administration, Information Security and Forensics, Information Technology and Medical Informatics—before selecting one of them for your major. The Informatics Exploration option has been carefully designed so that you will stay on track to graduation regardless of the major you select in RIT’s School of Informatics.
Political Science: RIT’s unique bachelor’s degree program integrates the study of American government and international politics, a crucial approach to preparing you for a career in the public or the private sector of an increasingly globalized world. The addition of courses in the life sciences and information technology make this undergraduate program like no other in the country.
Electrical Engineering: RIT’s bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering is now offering a Robotics option. This major is ideal for you if you want to be educated within the framework of the traditional electrical engineering program, but also want to incorporate the theoretical and practical skills required in designing robots and robotics devices. You’ll receive instructions in areas including advance programming, robotics systems, principles of robotics and advance robotics.
