Women’s hockey plans to move to NCAA Division I

RIT is applying to move its nationally recognized Division III women’s hockey program to Division I. They would join the RIT men’s hockey team as the only Division I hockey program in Rochester. More.

RIT women’s hockey wins NCAA national title

The RIT women’s hockey team claimed its first NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey National Championship, defeating defending national champion Norwich University. It’s the third national championship won by any RIT team in the history of the university. More.

RIT/NTID alumnus changing the way deaf people experience music

RIT/NTID alumnus Sean Forbes ’08 (multidisciplinary studies) created the nonprofit organization D-PAN, which translates popular songs into American Sign Language music videos. Forbes, who has been deaf since he was an infant, signed with the same record label that discovered rap artist Eminem. More.
