Regular Osher Membership

A regular membership entitles you to participate in all courses and activities. The annual fee is $265 per person. Membership is open on a year-round basis with terms beginning in Fall, Winter and Spring/Summer. [More Info]

Regular membership includes:

  • Unlimited courses-choose from a selection of more than 100 member-led courses per year. Offerings span a wide range of topics, including the arts, literature, mathematics & sciences, history, government, languages and more.
    Courses meet once a week, and are held throughout the day Monday-Friday from 9:30am-3:30pm
  • Pfaudler Enrichment Lecture Series-one of our most popular programs...this lunchtime lecture series offered on Thursdays from 12:00 - 1:00 PM features guest speakers or members presenting programs on a wide variety of stimulating topics. Brown-bag lunches are welcome.
  • Summer Seminar Series-Discovery/Adventure opportunities focus on regional themes and sites. Lectures by guest speakers are followed by expeditions to destinations that complement the topic
  • Intersession Program-this program offers members an opportunity to experience off-campus learning. Trips to local museums and cultural attractions are often accompanied by lunch with the group.
  • Travel, Tours, Field Trips-members plan and organize events ranging from one-day outings to extended travel. Trips are often planned as an enhancement to classroom learning. Additional fees for travel are on a non-profit, per trip basis. In addition, members can participate in RIT Travel programs and select travel opportunities offered by our fellow Osher Institutes nationwide.
  • Social Activities-members enjoy our regular social activities where they come together for fun, food & friendship.
  • FREE Parking - park within steps of the entrance to the Athenaeum Building. There is never a parking fee.
  • RIT Student Identification card-Your link to the RIT Community... your RIT ID card is your pass to campus facilities and entitles you to student discounts at the campus bookstore, reduced membership to the state-of-the-art Gordon Field House & Activities Center, student admission rates to campus events and privileges at the RIT Library.
  • RIT Liberal Arts Courses-Expand your horizons even further with the opportunity to "listen in" on a variety of over 100 Liberal Arts Courses on the RIT campus, and still no exams!   • Audiology Services-Your student ID card entitles you access to a wide range of services provided by the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) Communication and Services Department including; hearing tests, hearing aid checks, consultations and hearing aid evaluations. Services are available September through mid-May, at significant savings. For more information, contact the NTID Hearing Aid shop at 475-6473. Audiology Services

Supporting Membership

A Supporting Membership entitles you to participate in a lecture series, travel and tour programs and social activities. It does not include courses. Choose a Supporting Membership if you are unable to participate in courses but would like to be involved in Osher on a limited basis. The annual fee is $130 per person. [More Info]

Trial Membership

A Trial Membership entitles you to participate in courses and activities for one term - either Fall, Winter, or Spring/Summer. Trial membership is available to first-time members for one term only. It does not include an RIT Student ID card or Audiology Services. The annual fee is $150 per person

A Trial Membership can be converted to a Regular Membership for the subsequent two terms by payment of an additional $115 per person. [More Info]
