1910
The food administration and home economics programs are established.
1923
The retailing department is established.
1952
The College of Business acquires the McKechnie-Lunger School
of Commerce.
1954
The Division of Business is established.
1960
Edwina Hogadone is named dean of the College of Business.
The College of Business is endowed.
The Division of Business, School of Retailing, and the
School of Food Administration are combined into the School of Business Administration.
1968
RIT moves from downtown Rochester to its new campus in Henrietta.
1968
The Center for Management Study is founded.
1968
RIT’s MBA program is established.
1970
Jerry Young is named dean of the College of Business.
1972
Ed Johnson is named dean of the College of Business.
1977
J. Warren McClure establishes the J. Warren
McClure Research Professorship in Marketing, the first endowed chair in the College of Business.
1979
The School of Food and Hotel Administration
is moved to the College of Applied Science and Technology.
1979
The School of Retailing is merged into the Marketing program.
1979
Dale Gibson is named interim dean of the College of Business.
1980
Walter McCanna is named dean of the College of Business.
1982
The College of Business moves from the Eastman Building to the Lowenthal Building.
1988
The College of Business earns its AACSB Accreditation.
1990
The United States Business School in Prague is established.

Richard Rosett is named dean of the College of Business.

The College of Business is awarded the USA Today Quality Award.

The College of Business establishes the Executive MBA program.

William Nowlin is named interim dean of the College of Business.

Lynn Pankoff is named dean of the College of Business.

Tom Hopkins is named dean of the College of Business.

Top 50 Ranking.
2005
Wayne Morse is named interim dean of the College of Business.
2006
RIT renames the College of Business the E. Philip Saunders College of Business after a $13 million gift
from E. Philip Saunders, a local businessman.
2007
Ashok Rao is named dean of the Saunders College.
2008
BusinessWeek ranks the Saunders College the 58th best undergraduate business program.
