Packaging Science is a unique and rewarding career. The professional Packaging Engineer must draw from several disciplines to perform his/her duties. These include mathematics, science, design and marketing among others. Professionals interact with almost every other department within a corporation. Their involvement with the graphics department, marketing, accounting and research and development requires effective communication skills.
Packaging professionals that fully use their skills can often save a corporation thousands of dollars when creating or re-designing packaging. This comes from experience in the dynamics involved in logistics and the performance features of different materials. Packing has the ability to shape the customers perception of a company and win their respect.
