Interim Senior Vice President for Student Affairs
Heath Boice-Pardee is currently the Interim Senior Vice President for Student Affairs after serving as the Associate Vice President for seven years. He has worked as an administrator in higher education for over 20 years in a variety of administrative and teaching roles. In his current position, he manages functions crucial to student well-being, engagement, and success including Campus Life, Residence Life, Intercollegiate Athletics, Wellness, and Academic Support to name a few.
Heath has published and presented internationally on topics including philosophy of education and student affairs, peer education, supervision, and customer service leadership in higher education. Much of his career has been spent creating vision for first-year programs and identifying ways to enhance the student experience. His most recent research and administrative interests marry theories of customer service leadership and higher education to enhance the student experience and understanding ways in which students value higher education. Heath has been instrumental in the creation of higher education administration concentration in the Master’s in Service Leadership and Innovation at RIT which launched in fall 2013. Additionally, he has an appointment as an associate faculty member with the School for Advanced Studies at the University of Phoenix where he served on the Academic Program Council for Higher Education. In this role, he served as one of three faculty members who developed the doctoral program in Higher Education Administration.
A self-professed lifelong learner, Heath received his Bachelor’s degree in Public Communications and Master's degree in Student Affairs with a concentration in counseling from the College of Saint Rose in Albany. Heath also holds a doctorate in Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education from Rutgers University. Most recently, Heath received a Graduate Certificate in Service Leadership and Innovation from RIT which makes him a proud alum.
When not working or teaching in higher education, Heath writes mystery novels about the tribulations of a dean of students at a private college on the New Jersey shore; his latest novels, Missing by the Midway and Buried by the Boardwalk were published by Seabreeze Press in 2012 and 2013, respectively. He lives in the Rochester area with his wife and two daughters.
