Moore became dean of RIT graduate studies, a newly created position, in 2007. RIT has more than 70 graduate programs in high-growth, high-tech areas.
Moore served as dean of the College of Liberal Arts from 1999 to 2006, where he was responsible for growing the college to 121 full-time faculty, 90 part-time faculty and 30 staff. Moore came to RIT after an eight-year stint as associate dean in the Yale University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Anthropology brought him to Yale in 1983, when he was hired as assistant professor in that department.
