Rochester Institute of Technology is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). This accreditation body requires institutions to meet standards related to best practices in higher education. These standards are known as the Characteristics of Excellence.
To remain accredited, institutions undergo a Self-Study every 10 years, and submit a Periodic Review Report (PRR) at the 5 year point between self-studies. Rochester Institute of Technology submitted the most recent Self-Study in 2007 and will submit its Periodic Review Report in June 2012. RIT’s next site visit is in 2017.
