RIT Global Collaboration Grid

Gurcharan S. Khanna, Director of Research Computing, gave two presentations at the Fall Internet2 Meetings in Atlanta, GA in early November. The Collaboration Special Interest Group saw live demos of the Grid, a virtual community of real-time video from RIT's colleges, campuses abroad and partners.

The Grid is a research project showcasing student research of advanced technologies, used for teaching classes to Kosovo, hosting lectures, conducting telemedicine demonstrations and experiencing artistic performances. NTID, the Wallace Center, Center for Student Innovation, the College of Business and the Biomedical Photo Lab already have Grid installations and more are on the way.
