University Studies ProgramUniversity Studies Program (USP) Reports Continued Program Growth
The fall of 2013 brought another record class to the University Studies Program. USP enrolled 90 new RIT students (89 freshman and 1 transfer student). New student enrollment has consistently grown each year, with 2013 representing a 21% increase over the prior year. As part of the growth in USP, many other things are taking place:
- Two additional adjunct faculty members were added to teach our Career Exploration Seminar - Ms. Mina Pulcini and Ms. Melissa Russell.
- 44 students are a part of the USP Living Learning Community located in Residence Hall B this year.
- USP hosted its annual fall picnic in September, and is planning a fun night of laser tag in November for students, faculty and staff.
- The USP will soon be located in the Student Alumni Union! Early in 2014, you will find us in the former Writing Center space across from the Brick City Cafe.
All USP advisors demonstrated their commitment to continued professional development by successfully completing their RIT certification. Staying current in the best practices of advising enables the advising team to provide knowledgeable, effective and personalized advising that meets the needs of our students.
