Message from the Provost

Jeremy Haefner, Ph.D.

Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

We are nearly through with our first semester, and I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the behind-the-scenes effort that has gone into making the transition to semesters as smooth as possible for our students. The holidays are right around the corner, our students are preparing for final exams, and it seems to me that campus is buzzing with great projects and new energy. Within our division, faculty and staff are preparing to host conferences here on campus, working on important policies, publishing books, and finding new ways to support student learning. Through their efforts, our students are winning awards for research, enhancing their critical thinking and writing skills, and working and studying abroad at our global campuses.

You may notice that this message has a new name-The Academic Affairs Newsletter-to better capture the content and purpose of the message, which is to share news and information about the many units of the Division of Academic Affairs. I am currently exploring alternatives andchanges to my website,, and my monthly campus communications. More information will be shared soon, but in the meantime please enjoy this edition of the newly-renamed Academic Affairs Newsletter.
