Message from the Provost

Jeremy Haefner, Ph.D.

Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

Welcome to the second edition of the newly recreated Academic Affairs Newsletter. While technically we have celebrated the start of spring, and students have enjoyed the first RIT spring break on semesters, winter weather continues to be a rascal and spring weather has yet to arrive in Rochester. Despite this, our faculty, staff and students have not spent the winter hibernating but have been busy volunteering in the community, connecting with RIT alumni, and travelling the world from the Caribbean to Pompeii to Wuhan, China. They have received numerous grants, and are in the final planning stages for upcoming conferences and symposia. Many of the activities featured in this edition support RIT's efforts to become a global university and you will read about efforts to build both local and international partnerships, as well as increasing our focus on RIT's commitment to academic excellence. Through the efforts of our faculty and staff, we continue to build a solid foundation for staff, faculty and student success.
