Research Services
The Research Services agreement applies to basic research initiatives that can lead to larger engagements in the future.
What type of research? With the Research Services agreement, the research typically involves testing, analysis, training or consulting services.
Who will I work with? Faculty has a limited role in Research Services initiatives. Undergraduate students conduct most Research Services assignments, under the supervision of faculty. At the start of the project, a qualified team will be identified based on your project needs.
What about Intellectual Property? With a Research Services agreement IP is not an expected outcome.
Where will we work? When you partner with RIT to conduct a research assignment, you will have access to RIT labs and facilities for the purposes of the assignment. RIT offers state-of-the art facilities, with premier centers for Imaging Arts & Sciences, Microsystems and Sustainable systems. How long will it take? In general, Research Services assignments are short. A typical project is completed in a few days or weeks. Sometimes Research Services agreements include several short projects over the course of a year.
