Dr. Boyd’s role with the IT Collaboratory
and as Associate Provost for Outreach programs, includes
university-wide industry outreach/research relations,
and collaboration with the colleges and research centers
at RIT to further partnerships with industry and government
through investments in selected academic and research
programs.

Alan D. Raisanen, Ph.D.

Dr. Raisanen is the associate director of the Semiconductor
Micro-systems Fabrication Laboratory and a Distinguished
Researcher at RIT, and will be responsible for overseeing
the research programs and the establishement of the new
laboratory facilities and equipment of the IT Collaboratory.
For six years Dr. Raisanen was a research assistant at
the University of Minnesota working on interfacial phenomena
in thin films. He continued this research as a postdoctoral
fellow at Xerox Corporate Wilson Research Center. While
at Xerox he held leadership positions in microelectronic
engineering. He is an expert in process development, equipment
engineering and installation, yield management, failure
analysis and manufacturing support.

Michael Dwyer

Mike will manage the day to day operations of the STAR
Center including partner relationships, reporting, finance
& administration, contracting, technology transfer
and new business development. He joined RIT
in 2002 with more than 25 years in engineering, marketing,
and business-unit management. His most recent position
was vice president and general manager for Signaling Products
at ALSTOM Signaling, a $120 million supplier of transportation
management systems. Prior to that, he was vice president
of marketing for ABB Automation, a $1.3 billion supplier
of automation systems to the chemical, pharmaceutical,
paper, and textiles industry.

Paras Prasad, Ph.D.
University at Buffalo
Executive Director, Institute of Lasers, Photonics and
Biophotonics
Dr. Prasad directs and coordinates the activities of
the IT Collaboratory for the Institute of Lasers,
Photonics and Biophotonics, University at Buffalo. Dr.
Prasad holds the rank of distinguished professor—the
highest in the New York State university system—of
chemistry, physics, medicine and electrical engineering,
and holds the Samuel P. Capen Chair at the University
at Buffalo. He established the internationally recognized
Photonics Research Laboratory, which forms the core of
the Institute for Lasers, Photonics and Biophotonics.

Alexis
Claire, Ph.D.
New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University
Dr. Clare directs and coordinates the activities
of the IT Collaboratory for the NYS College of
Ceramics, Alfred University. She is professor of glass science,
and was awarded the 2000 Vittorio Gottardi Prize for Glass
Science given by the International Commission on Glass for
Research and Education. |
