Timothy J. Tredwell
Research Fellow, Carestream Health
Dr. Tredwell is currently a Research Fellow at Carestream Health, responsible for the development of flat-panel image sensors for digital radiography. Dr. Tredwell received his Ph.D. in Solid-State Physics from the University of Rochester in 1974 and worked as a group leader in image sensing at Honeywell from 1974-1978. He joined Eastman Kodak Research Laboratories in 1978, where he was Laboratory Head of the Microelectronics Device Design and Development Laboratory, responsible for development of CMOS and CCD image sensors and signal processing chips for digital photography. In 1988, he became head of the Electronic Photography Laboratory, responsible for research and development of professional and consumer digital cameras. From 1994-1997 Dr. Tredwell was CTO of the Image Acquisition Systems Division of the Commercial and Government Systems and from 1997-2005 he was head of the Engineering Physics Laboratory, responsible for development of optical printing and display systems.
Dr. Tredwell has served as subcommittee chair for the International Electron Device Meeting and as subcommittee chair, program chair, and now is Conference Chair of the IEEE International Solid State Circuits Conference. He serves on the IEEE Solid State Circuits Society ADCOM. He has 25 publications and 39 patents issued.
