Mission
The office of Sponsored
Research Services is a supportive infrastructure that promotes the expertise
of the RIT community by facilitating all aspects of externally funded
grants and contracts.
Operating Principles
The office of Sponsored Research Services works in concert with others
to increase sponsored programs by:
- Helping principal investigators
successfully propose and manage externally funded projects;
- Building partnerships that further
the goals of RIT;
- Identifying avenues for the RIT
community to fulfill their scholarly, artistic, and academic dreams;
- Matching RIT's expertise with
appropriate audiences;
- Advancing RIT's role in regional
economic development;
- Cultivating RIT's leadership role
in Rochester, regionally nationally and globally;
- Developing and nurturing dynamic
working relationships with sponsors;
- Adding resources and knowledge
to sponsored project activities;
- Brokering diverse interests, resources,
and commitments throughout the proposal development and project management
stages
- Providing stewardship of grants
and contracts by ensuring compliance with applicable institutional and
sponsor regulations ethically and timely;
. . . and doing so with a sense of humor and in a highly professional
fashion.
