Biomedical and Materials Multimodal Laboratory

The lab allows for a variety of imaging research including:

• Image processing

• Imaging data analysis

• Generation of realistic synthetic images

• Ultrasound imaging and characterization of materials


The Biomedical and Materials Multimodal Laboratory has the following equipment, listed with specifications:

Ultrasound immersion piston transducers, shear transducers, and non-contact transducers

Frequencies from 1 MHz to 50 MHz

Automated ultrasound data acquisition system

Water tank and stepper motors, digital oscilloscopes, function generators, pulsers/receivers, and amplifiers


2 computers, 64-bit, used for data analysis and image processing

Access to the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science computer network
