Poster Session and Reception: Research Seed Funding in Action

Please join us for a poster session and reception featuring the work in progress of last year’s seed funding awardees.  The event will feature a brief program with plenty of time to view posters and ask questions, while enjoying food and refreshments.

The program will feature posters from winners of seed funding awards from last year’s grant writers’ boot camp.  Awardees are midway through one year projects which will develop a foundation for externally funded research. 

Presenters include:

     Amanda Bao, CAST, Investigating an innovative hybrid nano-fibered concrete subject to compression

     Poorna Kushalnagar, COS, Development and validation of a quality of life among adults with hearing loss instrument

     Raja Kushalnagar, NTID, Viewing devices: enhancing classroom access

     Wei Le, GCCIS, Analyzing graphical-diffs to understand and verify changes of software

     Hinda Mandell, COLA, Conflicted messages: Nazi relics in contemporary Jewish homes

     Christine Monikowski, NTID, Access services in post-secondary education

     Ivan Puchades, KGCOE, Development of MEMS resonators, filters and switches

     Hans Schmitthenner, COS, Molecular scaffolds for targeted molecular imaging agents

     Michael Schrlau, KGCOE, Manipulating nanoscale objects from a remote location

     Patricia Taboada-Serrano, KGCOE, Combined cyclic voltammetry and scanning probe microscopy as a tool to investigate ion removal

Winners of the Strategic Acceleration of Research for Tenure Track Faculty awards will also be present.  These awards fund efforts to obtain preliminary results for incorporation into future proposals.  Presenters include:
