• NTID Working Group on External Funding Report

NTID's Strategic Plan called for the exploration of outside funding to address institutional priorites, and mechanisms to facilitate the pursuit of grants and other outside funding. In response to this strategic objective, and in addition to the work being done by the NTID Development Office, In 1996 the Center for Research, Teaching and Learning (CRTL) accepted the responsibility to serve as a grants support site, focusing on federal and state funding sources.

On July 1, 2001, this responsibility was moved to the RIT office of Sponsored Research Services (SRS). Gail Hyde, who had been the NTID Grants Coordinator through CRTL and liaison to the SRS office, became a Senior Research Administrator in this office, with primary responsibility for proposal development for the college of NTID. Responsibilities include seeking funding opportunities, distributing information about these opportunities to interested faculty/staff, and supporting proposal development and writing. Gail's office is in the Johnson building, room 2847, telephone 475-5343 (V/TTY), fax 475-7850.
