U.S. Department of Labor Susan Harwood Training Grants

Synopsis.  The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) awards funds to nonprofit organizations to provide training and educational programs for workers and/or employers. Grants are awarded to provide training and education programs for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace, and to inform workers of their rights and employers of their responsibilities under Section 21 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act). The notice announces availability of approximately $1.2 million for Susan Harwood Training Program grants under the following categories: Targeted Topic Training and Training and Educational Materials Development grants.

Limit. RIT must limit applications to one submittal per grant category:

Targeted Topic Training; or

Targeted Topic Training and Educational Materials Development

Application Instructions.  Interested parties should submit a concept paper of no more than two pages to david.bond@rit.edu on or before April 20, 2012.  The deadline for full proposals to U.S. DOL is May 17, 2012.
