RIT offers a number of scholarships exclusively to School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS) majors.
To be considered for these and other RIT scholarships, simply file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and any other pertinent forms listed on the RIT Financial Aid website and your application will automatically be considered for institutional need-based grant and scholarship as well as merit-based scholarship programs. Any awards granted will be listed on your RIT financial aid award letter. For a comprehensive overview of RIT academic and merit scholarships, please refer to RIT Merit Scholarships. Additionally, many professional organizations, such as Mathematical Association of America (MAA), American Mathematical Society (AMS) and others, offer scholarships and fellowships to students pursuing degrees in the mathematical sciences. As an example, the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) has a nice listing of national fellowships. To view such opportunities for funding assistance, please visit the various organizations' websites for information and direct application, some of which are available under our Research link.
