Harshita Sood Director of Clubs & Organizations
I'm a 5th year student from Kolkata, India, enrolled in the Environmental Science BS/MS program. When I'm not busy looking at birds or bugs or my thesis, I'm usually busy with one of my many student affairs commitments. I have served as an RA, as a Global Village RA and I'm currently serving as a Community Advocate (CA) for Riverknoll. I have also served as the Secretary and then the President of Global Union, one of RIT's Major Student Organizations, through which I worked with several clubs, departments, MSOs, including Student Government. When the opportunity came up, I decided to apply for the Director of Clubs and Organizations position.I hope to bring my experiences working with students and clubs to this position. My responsibilities include acting as the SG liaison to MSOs and clubs. I hope to better establish better relationships between SG and RIT's clubs and organizations, help engage a larger student body by encouraging more students to join clubs, help clubs have a smoother transition into the new Link system, and ensure that every club's voice is heard by SG. The best way to get in touch with me is via email, or by visiting the SG office during my office hours. I'm always willing to grab ice cream or coffee and discuss how I can be of assistance. I am a self-proclaimed foodie (I'm particularly fond of desserts), and you can convince me to do almost anything if you bribe me with cotton candy!
