Bakar Ali Cross-Registered Senator

Bakar Ali
Biography

My name is Bakar Ali. I am cross-registered senator. I represent for the deaf, hard-of-hearing, and NTID supported students in all colleges of RIT who are pursuing Bachelor and graduate degrees. I am a second year student in RIT's College of Liberal Arts. I am double majoring in Urban and Community studies, and International studies.

I ran for this position because I wanted to make sure our deaf and hard-of-hearing students felt good about their educational goals and were getting the best possible education, access, and support in their respective colleges. One of my goals this year is to empower deaf students at RIT. I want deaf students to have fair access to employment, leadership and educational resources. I also intend on improving the relationship between deaf and hearing students at RIT.

I can always be found either at Wallace Library (which is my second home) or in the College of Liberal Arts where most of my classes are. If you would like to know more about my work, have concerns that you want addressed, or just want to talk about anything relating to my constituency, please don't hesitate to contact me. If you like drinking coffee, I could be one of your great friends; I am a big fan of coffee. Come and see me; you will get a free cup of coffee:)
