Information and Tryouts
The Rochester Institute of Technology ACHA team competes in Division 1 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association, as a member of the Eastern Collegiate Hockey League. The team is comprised of full-time male students that attend RIT and show a level of skill able to participate at a division 1 level of play.
Prospective players will have an opportunity to make the team through open tryouts, held the first week of school. A final roster of the team will be determined based upon evaluations of the players skill made at the time of tryouts by the coaching staff. Players selected for the team are those that the coaching staff believe will give the team the best opportunity for overall success in the upcoming season. Team roster size is determined by the coaching staff, and all players, including returning players, must earn their place on the team roster.
Any player interested in trying out for the team or to receive further information is requested to fill out the recruitment form found on this website. The coaching staff is in the process of recruiting for next season and would like to be in contact with any potential prospects. Meetings between the prospects and the coaching staff can be set up. Team updates and preseason conditioning suggestions will be forwarded to the prospect prior to tryouts.
Every day is another day closer to next season, and the Tigers are getting prepared by doing everything they can. For new and prospective players, you'll need to be ready for the informational meetings and then tryouts, dates and times of which are listed below. Good luck!
