Membership

If you're interested in becoming a member of Engineering House, here are some ways to get started!

Virtual Shadowing

Amidst the current pandemic, incoming freshmen can meet and talk to current Engineering House members via a virtuial meeting on Zoom. We'd love to meet you and answer any questions you have. Feel free to email ehouserecruitment@gmail.com to set up a meeting or if you have any issues or questions.

Shadowing

Incoming freshmen have the opportunity to spend a day shadowing an Engineering House student. You can go to classes with another student in your major and experience a day in the college life and spend time after talking with other Engineering House members and touring the school. If you're interested, you can email us at ehouserecruitment@gmail.com to schedule a date to shadow. Note: amidst the current pandemic, shadowing will be limited to virtual meetings for the time being. You can sign up here for a virtual tour and to meet current members.

On-Floor Members

On-floor members get the full experience of being a part of Engineering House. Our open door policy encourages members to socialize and collaborate on assignments. On-floor members have easy access to the VAX, study lounge, and pool lounge, all of which are great places to work and relax.

Off-Floor Members

You don't need to be an on-floor member to enjoy the benefits of Engineering House. Off-floor members have access to all of the same events and resources. Our Recruitment Chairman keeps all off-floor members informed of House events, and represents their opinions in meetings. Also, if an on-floor room is left vacant, an active off-floor member can take the spot and become an on-floor member.

To all who are interested in becoming off-floors, fill out the form at https://forms.gle/Sm1CzAu8t6ocZ9iU8

How do I Join?

Freshmen can apply to become an on-floor member by filling out an application in the housing contract. A selection committee reads the applications and selects which members will live on floor. Applicants who are not selected may choose to become off-floor members.

Be sure to apply for Engineering House in your RIT Housing application!
