Is there a good way to start these things?

Again, a note of thanks goes out to everyone who helped make the cupcake social a resounding success.  There are certianly more people aware of InterVarsity’s presence at RIT than there were before, and I think cupcakes and fun people made a good first impression.  Now the follow-up effort again takes on critical importance.  The Servant and Outreach Teams will be discussing how often we can reasonably do cupcake socials without making them too common.

Here’s the rest of the inside scoop on ST:

We took a break last week from our regular agenda to relax a bit.  We had our Bible study in Luke 9 and then spent the remainder of our time discussing many of the concerns that had been brought to our attention.  We are planning to have several versions of a discussion forum (live, Internet, etc.) to allow opportunities for further questions.  Communication is critical in any organization, and I think the flatter InterVarsity can act as an organizational structure, the better.

Just so you know, there is also a meeting between the presidents of the various Christian groups at RIT in the works.  The goal is to discuss common vision elements and get a greater picture of what God is doing on campus, as well as communicate around the possibility of a common event.

Grace and Peace!
