regional direction

Read the following like you’re Rod Roddy: “Welcome back to the next installment of the “IV blog!”
Here’s a personal note from m a t t. There are two things coming up I’m super-excited about: tonight’s Large Group (08-1250), and Expedition. The first is not only exciting to me because I’ve really been enjoying “The Search for Community” series, but also because regional director Greg Jao will be speaking tonight, and he’s one of my favorite people. [Yes, I do have favorites when it comes to people. I try not to play favorites.] And Expedition changed my life last year. The story is too long for this medium, but ask me about it and I’ll share. I’m looking forward to participating in the Gearing Up track this year.
Now a word from Servant Team (well, still from m a t t, but from a ST perspective):
Fall New Student Outreach (NSO) is officially over with Expedition, but we’ve been doing some review and analysis. One of the coolest part of NSO this fall was that we actually tried a lot of things. Some worked and some didn’t, and that kind of education by fire is priceless. You can design the bounciest trampoline on the planet, but until you build it and take the first jump, you won’t really know how well it will work. Drew (Secretary of NSO) and others are working on using what we now know to plan a second NSO effort from January, probably with fewer, higher quality events.
A cool thing about God: When He asks us to do something, He gives us the power to do it. Ezekiel 2:1-2.
