Service Night
- Time: 6:30pm to 9:00pm
- Location: 08-1250
- Description:
Our quarterly week 10 service night will look a bit different than the last few years. We will be staying on campus to focus on serving RIT.
Here’s a brief description of all the projects:
- Cleaning Bathrooms
It’s been our tradition to go around to different apartments and ask people to let us clean their bathrooms. It’s such a humbling experience and lets you really meet people in a cool way. - Cookies for Crap
We will be going around the dorms taking out people’s trash and giving them cookies in return. - Faculty Appreciation white boards/note cards
Here is another effort to try to serve the faculty in our community. We are going to go around and write encouraging/appreciative notes on faculty members’ white boards outside of their office, or on note cards that will go under their door if they don’t have a white board. - Prayer walk
The one thing we can always do for everyone is pray and that’s what we will do all across campus, making sure that we are available to pray with anyone that seeks it.
Now that you know the projects, here are some ways that we can all serve now:
- We need cookies. In order to make the cookies for crap project work we need cookies. We would love to give each student in the room four cookies, there’s at least two students per room, and a lot of rooms. So you can just imagine how many cookies we need. This is something everyone can do and bring in with them this Friday.
- We need cleaning supplies. Bathrooms can’t be cleaned without them. If you have any that we can borrow, please bring them.
- We need dry erase markers, for the white boards, of course.
- Also, after serving we will be meeting up together for Jubilee, our monthly celebration time. We’re going to get together, share stories about what God has been doing, worship, hear about this Involvement Diagram that’s been buzzing around and have fun playing games together and fellowshipping (with pizza). So that brings me to another thing: Please bring games. Thanks.
Pray about what God would like you to do that night, and then step out boldly and serve.
