RIT InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

IV Newsletter 1.9

October 30th, 2007

Greetings RIT InterVarsity! We’re back from an awesome Expedition, and
ready to see Students & Faculty Transformed, The Campus Renewed, and
World-Changers Developed at RIT.

Outline

  1. Large Group (Webb)
  2. Service Night
  3. November Jubilee!

1. Large Group

This week we’ll meet in Webb Auditorium (7A-1350) at 7pm to conclude
our Search for Community: “What happens when community fails?”

2. Service Night

An easy one this week: “Be our guest, be our guest, put our service to the test.”

Our quarterly week 10 service night will look a bit different than the last few years. We will be staying on campus to focus on serving RIT. Information about specific projects (including the ever-popular bathroom cleaning, cookies for crap, and more) will be on the website shortly.

Service Night will begin at 6:30pm on Friday, November 9 in 08-1250. At 9:00pm we will reconvene for some
pizza and Jubilee in NRH 1250.

3. November Jubilee!

…will begin right after our Service Night activities. We’ll gather from some pizza at 9pm in NRH 1250. Jubilee will be very different than it was last time. We’re planning to have a few people share stories of God’s work in their lives through service night and in the last month in general. We’ll spend some time singing and praying, and we’ll be officially discussing the brand-new Chapter Involvement and Service Diagram. This is the best way I’ve found to communicate and solidify in my own mind the way InterVarsity works (or should work). I’m convinced that this understanding will greatly improve our effectiveness in accomplishing the vision. And hopefully I get to use an Elmo.

Grace and Peace be yours in abundance!
