1. The Debate on the Existence of God
Hosted by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and the RIT Skeptics
Moderated by Prof. Spencer Meredith
This Friday (1/18), 7pm, Webb Auditorium (7A-1350).
Tell everyone you know. Specifics: There will be two panels of three students answering questions chosen by the moderator from lists submitted by the panels. Our panel is comprised of Daron Ladson, Drew McLean, and Val Tracy. There will be an opportunity for anyone to submit a question in written form at the beginning of the debate, or by emailing/texting ritdebate@gmail.com anytime during the debate (please don’t spam the inbox now). After a brief “intermission,” the moderator will sort through the audience questions and pick a few to ask the panels.
2. Debate Prayer
Please see the special announcement email Adrian sent today.
3. Hot Chocolate
We will continue to give away hot chocolate and debate flyers on the quarter mile 11-1 for the remainder of the week. Contact Katlyn if you are interested in helping.
4. Large Group
Large Group is replaced this week by the debate, which fits well with our series, “Does what you believe matter?” Stay tuned for “Does what you believe about humanity matter?” on 1/25.
5. Missions Projects!
At January Jubilee! we got to hear a little bit about the spring missions projects that we have coming up. Please check the website for more information. New York Urban Missions Project (NYCUP) applications are now available online, and are due Feb. 14. Contact Rachel for info. There will also be a Habitat for Humanity project at a yet-to-be-determined location. Contact Erik with potential interest. The Guyana Team is looking forward to serving and reaching in South America over spring break. Prayer requests will soon be available on the website.
Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.
Grace and Peace,
- m a t t
