Debate, etc.
January 20th, 2008
Here’s a big thanks to the almost 500 people that attended our Debate on the Existence of God. Thanks also to the RIT Skeptics, who deserve credit for proposing the event. It was wonderful to partner with the Skeptics to make this debate possible. We look forward to continuing our relationship with them as we look into the potential for Debate: Part II. And of course, Prof. Meredith is the man of the hour. We thank you for moderating the debate in an incredibly fair and unbiased manner.
If you missed the debate, the audio is available in full on the debate page. The Skeptics also have video footage of the debate, which should be available on this site soon. Look for an article covering the debate in next week’s Reporter.
Questions. We know that many of your questions went unanswered at the debate. Over the next week our leadership will be attempting to formulate clear, concise, and accurate answers to the unanswered questions that were sent to ritdebate@gmail.com. But in the meantime, please visit our debate page. We have divided the questions into eight categories, and provided an opportunity for anyone to post answers, so we can review together the kinds of answers that Christians might provide.
If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to email ritdebate@gmail.com. Both InterVarsity and the Skeptics have access to that account, so you are free to continue sending in questions, though we cannot necessarily commit to answering new questions coming in, we will do our best. After all, we are RIT students, too. To email InterVarsity directly use ivcf@rit.edu.
We thank you for your patience. Please take a look around the site if you are interested in any of the other things that IV is doing.
