1. We will be celebrating and mourning the death of Jesus Christ this Friday at 9pm in Webb Auditorium.  Our brothers and sisters from BCM will be joining us for a short service of reflection on the person of Jesus and his sacrifice for us in preparation for Easter Sunday (which we encourage you to celebrate with your church family).

2. The Cupcake Social is back!  This Thursday 11am-3pm in the Fireside Lounge.  The purpose of this social is to raise awareness about the invisible children in Northern Uganda as a result of the ongoing war there. As Christ followers and world changers we desire that those living in poverty or fear will have joy and peace in Jesus Christ. To bring forth change we are working with the Invisible Children club to raise more awareness on campus.

WE NEED YOUR HELP: PLEASE COOK CUPCAKES
how many? As many as you can.  We’re hoping for over 1000 total.
how? Buy cake mix at bjs and cook cook cook!
**please do not frost the cupcakes… that’s part of the  fun for the social!
Give finished cupcakes to Elliot (129-D Perkins) or Val & Katlyn (189-C Perkins) or bring them to the fireside lounge at 10:30am Thursday.

Please email Chelsea (today!) with the number of cupcakes you plan to make.

3. Invisible Children.  The IC roadies are coming to town, and InterVarsity is co-sponsoring screenings of two of their movies with the RIT Chapter of Invisible Children.

  • Tomorrow, the screening of the movie that started the movement.  It’s a must-see if you haven’t yet.  Invisible Children: Rough Cut tells the story of war-effected children in Northern Uganda and calls for us to make a difference in the world. Come see the film at 8pm in Webb Auditorium, learn about the current state of Northern Uganda and learn what you can do to help.
  • Thursday at 8pm see IC’s latest effort, Sunday: The Story of a Displaced Child in Webb Auditorium.  Since 1996, 1.5 million people have been forced to live in displacement camps in Northern Uganda in an attempt to separate the civilians from the LRA rebels. The conditions in these camps have led to a horrific humanitarian crisis. Nearly 1000 people die every week as a result of disease and malnutrition within the camps.  Sunday: The Story of a Displaced Child tells about the life of a child living in one of these camps and the obstacles he has to overcome.  Come be inspired and learn what you can do to help.

4. The “RIT Inn/Commuter Small Group” will be meeting on the academic side of campus this quarter at 6pm on whatever day is best for those who are interested. Commuters and Inn residents (and people interested in being a part of their community) please contact Stefan Bukowski to express interest.  If you’re unsure about this small group idea, ask anyone who’s been to a small group more than once.  Or talk to Erik Bellandi.

5.  Ladies!  If You’re invited to the Women’s Appreciation Dinner.   Your brothers want to show you how much we appreciate you by providing a nice formal dinner and some entertainment.  Invitations can out last Friday and will be available this week as well.  The dinner is free and open to all females.  Take an extra invitation for a friend!

6. After Large Group week 3 (March 28) we will hold March Jubilee 8:45-9:30.  This version of Jubilee will include encouraging reports from our spring break projects, as well as a information and voting (we have a constitution, after all) regarding proposed changes to our leadership structure (see below).

7. Jubilee Jamboree.  Stefan is organizing a worship night after JubileeIf you have an instrument, bring it with you. The chords will be posted with the words to the songs, so everyone can play and sing and drum and generally create a cacophony of “music” for the glory of God.

8. Servant Team has been looking at our leadership structure and has developed some proposals for change.  But we know that there are a few of us and many of you, and the more people who people critiquing it the better.  I will be posting the proposed structure diagram with and explanation of why we felt we needed a change, and a description of the changes that may not be clear from the diagram.  these will be in the “Blog” section of the website.  We would appreciate it if you would review these and email comments and concerns to me.

9. Website.  Yes, the rumors are true.  Our website was cracked by a Canadian drug company.  Everything is now under control, and most of the website is functioning properly again.  thank you for your patience.

I will sing to the LORD,
for he has been good to me.
